At St John, we’re passionate about saving lives through first aid

Our mission is to have at least one person educated, equipped and prepared to provide first aid in every home, workplace and public gathering. Every year we teach thousands of people how to save a life, including free first aid training to primary school children. We provide first aid in local communities, keeping people safe at small gatherings and large scale events. We equip individuals, families and workplaces with high quality first aid kits and equipment. We’re also there in the face of disaster, working alongside emergency services organisations in times of need.

We exist to prevent and relieve sickness and injury and to act to enhance the health and wellbeing of people of all races and creeds. We do this by providing quality first aid products, services and training for our communities. We’re a non-profit so our proceeds go directly back to the community.

In the event on an emergency operation in the ACT, St John forms part of the first response in partnership with Emergency Services Agency, Commonwealth Agencies and the ACT Government.

Community Programs

Public Access Defibrillator (PAD) Program

Help us achieve our goal to make ACT a world leader in public access defibrillation. St John Ambulance ACT is calling on the business community to purchase wifi-enabled defibrillation units and make them available for community use when needed.

CBR NightCrew

Creating a safe space to help people have a safer night out in Canberra.

As part of our community involvement, St John Ambulance ACT has been providing a safe environment within the Canberra CBD through our CBR NightCrew program. This program activity services the Canberra community by providing a safe space for young people in distress in Civic during the hours of 10pm-4am each Friday and Saturday nights and is predominantly provided for the safety of our youth.
